The Local 811 Human Rights Committee
$1000 Scholarship Essay Competition

The Local 811 Human Rights Committee works hard each year to help families meet the financial challenges of obtaining higher education, with the $1000 Making a Difference Scholarship. Critical for human rights, education is a fundamental tool for preventing poverty and promoting human empowerment. The economic development that follows educational opportunities helps create stronger communities that are better able to advance the priorities of working people.

Local 811 is the proud, sole sponsor of the $1000 Making a Difference Scholarship Competition.

The Competition is open to all members and their immediate family members. Applicants must be accepted as either a full or part time student at a college, university or trade school for the upcoming semester.
